Adults of this age may have children and will therefore will recognize current top 40/ chart music. They may also recognize music that was in the Top 40 Chart when they were younger. 30-40 year olds Radio Station ‘Heart’ has a similar demographic to our category. We found some of the music that this radio station plays, to see what this demographic likes to listen to: Starship – American Rock Band The Bluebells – Scottish Indie Rock Band DeBarge – R&B, Soul, Funk and Pop Heart: Last 10 songs Last Accessed 3rd November 2016 Global Radio: Our Audience - Last accessed: 3rd November We did the same with the BBC Radio 2 playlist which is targeted for a similar age. DeBarge DeBarge was a sibling music group of American origin whose repertoire included R&B, soul, funk and pop. Active as a professional recording group from 1979 to 1989, the group was one of the recording acts to bring success to Motown Records label. 8 Promoting the new brand

9 A little bit about them…
Before the Rebrand Known as ‘Hardcore’. The name was thought of when they were in an Indian restaurant and the food ‘Disturbed’ his bowels. Heavy metal band with a mixed aggressive riffs & vocals – melody approach. A little bit about them… Based in Chicago – Illinois Sold over 10 million albums worldwide Released six studio albums Formed in 1994 as ‘Brawl’ before becoming ‘Disturbed’ in 1996. 10 Our plan to rebrand For targeting our key demographic (30-40 year olds) we came up with the following plan to rebrand them: We will change the name to ‘Four Time’ to represent the band members and how they are changing to move on with the times, in the way of targeting their music to the new demographic. We will change the image of the artists themselves- No stern looks. Instead they will seem much happier and we will ensure that their facial hair is clean shaven. We feel that this will make them seem much less intimidating. We want them to look happy and give a positive vibe when our audience take the first look at the poster. We will create colour. The bands image used to be very dark with very limited colours. We think that is is important to bring vibrant colour to the band as this will give a more positive look and will be more engaging as the colours will stand out to the audience. Brighter colours attract much more attention and are much more intimidating to the audience. We want them to give off a much more relaxed feeling.

11 Changing the music Many albums and song titles were very intimidating, so we think it is important to give of a more positive vibe.
