12 Grades and GPA GPA = Grade Point Average
Started with your freshmen year and goes until the end of your senior year. Cumulative GPA: every grade you’ve earned in high school Birdville High School Reports our GPA on a 100 pt. scale Rank is determined by GPA. Freshmen year is the foundation year for rank and GPA so start strong and stay strong. If you didn’t do well freshmen year then start fresh this year and make improvements. The key to a good GPA is good grades and good attendance.

13 Cost Approximately $177 per 3 hour course plus textbooks. Requirements: Must show college readiness by having high enough scores on ACT or SAT or by passing the TSI (Texas Success Initiative) TCC Dual Credit Great Deal

14 TCC Continued Senior year options:
English: You will earn Comp 1, Comp 2, and Brit. Lit credit. 9 hours of college credit upon successful completion of each course. You must complete all 3 courses in English to get the high school credit. Approximately 3 hours for Govt., Econ. College Algebra, and Pre-Cal.

15 Dual Credit BCTAL Dual Credit Accounting at the BCTAL (course is paid for by the BCTAL) 6 hours college credit . Aviation Mechanics fees are also paid for by CTE and so is tool kit.

16 Good Attendance State law requires that you be in attendance in every class for 90% of the semester. This means you can only miss approximately 8 days before you are in danger of not getting credit for classes even if you are passing. If you no credit a class due to poor attendance then it will be posted onto your transcript like this 95* but in the credit column it will say 0. This means you will have to repeat the class. It also means you will not be able to get your VOE form. VOE stands for Verification of Enrollment. When you go to get your driver’s license you must have this form. If you have any NC’s on your transcript then you cannot get the form and will not be able to get it until after the next transcript comes out which could be almost 7 months. Poor attendance directly impacts your grades which impacts GPA. You also run the risk of having truancy filed against your which means court appearances and fines.

17 BCTAL (Birdville Center of Technology and Advanced Learning)
BCTAL offers a variety of career options, many classes are two periods. You may be able to earn certificates or licensures that will make you more employable.
