2. On the way to Anacapa Island (Q#1)…
Our tour company was Island Packers.
One question I had on our way to Anacapa Island (New Word!, Q#3) was:
- How the sea lions swam about 5 miles from the sea shore to this navigational buoy? New word!, Q#3 and Q#4.
- The answer was they propel like an arrow through the water and the water passes them smoothly.
- One sea lion on the buoy waved to us with his flipper!
There are 19 oil and gas platforms off the coast of Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. New word!, Q#3.

3. The Island (Q#2)
Some parts of Anacapa Island have steep rocky edges. Also, the Island has a kelp forest.
It is unusual to find buildings and structures on the Channel Islands National Park.
At the east end of Anacapa Island there’s some tiny rock formations which will be discussed in the next slide.

4. The Island (Continued)
Anacapa has one famous arch at the easternmost (New Word!, Q#3) point of the Island.
The Island is a spine of rock with a few plateaus.

Q#4. Another question I had about this place was how many species of dolphins are there in the Channel Inlands. Approximately 27 species of dolphins and whales can be seen around the Islands, that is about one third of the cetacean (dolphins, whales and porpoises, New Word!, Q#3) species found worldwide.
Q#5 and Q#6. My favorite thing that I’d like to remember about this trip are the dolphins, especially when they raced the boat.
