2 Dada Art Movement 1916-1924 Began in Zürich, Switzerland
Influenced by other avant-garde movements – Cubism, Constructivism, and Expressionism - its output was wildly diverse, ranging from performance art to poetry, photography, sculpture, painting, and collage. Avant-garde: French for ‘advance guard’. Push the boundaries of what is accepted as the norm or the status quo.

Louise Nevelson Dada artists are known for their use of readymade objects - everyday objects that could be bought and presented as art with little manipulation by the artist. The use of the readymade forced questions about artistic creativity and the very definition of art and its purpose in society.

Main objects were out of wood. Later, she used steel, plexiglass, and aluminum. Feminist. Produced large scaled sculptures. Spray painted: Black, white, gold

Recycled materials for assemblage. (i.e. unused or broken toys, emptied egg cartons, old crayons, pencils, pens, etc…, old ornaments, broken jewelry, coins, screws/bolts, paper clips, old toothbrushes, magnets, marbles, game pieces, and so on. Start to bring in your readymade objects TOMORROW! Don’t have much, go to the 99 cent store, Dollar Tree, etc…
