2 In 2013 before his second birthday my son Gunner was diagnosed with severe Autism, global delay, and Hyperkinesis. Later that year Epilepsy. 1 year old 2 years old 2nd Birthday Happy healthy baby. Around his official diagnoses but after months of First Steps Early Intervention. Large family party just weeks after official diagnoses.

3 The diagnosing physicians gave us very little hope for our son’s future. We were told even with intense therapies he would never gain the skills to speak or communicate with a PECS (picture exchange system) Matching/ Drawing Fine Motor Sensory Integration

4 Sensory time Equestrian Therapy Family Time
As a Mother, I was unable to accept the life described to me for my son. While Gunner was under the age of 3 we utilized First Steps for therapy. After he turned 3 we worked closely with his Support Coordinator to maximize his funding allowing him a typical life. Sensory time Equestrian Therapy Family Time We understood Gunner was sensory seeking and offered multiple avenues to meet his needs Gunner began weekly equine therapy just before his second birthday. My Father start volunteering at Soaring hope. This is now a weekly activity they do together.

Gunner loves his Personal Assistant Kelsey she helps him to be able to be in the community and work on skills. Gunner loves to swim. He works for tokens to earn swim time This year Gunner played on a typical T-ball team WITHOUT SUPPORTS
