Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity more severe than seen in most children at the same developmental level Evidence of interference with developmentally appropriate academic and social skills BBC documentary They stand out They know this, it feels rubbish

By medical professionals Observations from teachers, family and professionals involved support the process Questionnaires are involved and the responses help to inform There is no test or scan which can be used for diagnosis

When anxious this part of the brain is said to ‘shut down’

Provides ‘mini highs’ following successful decision making and problem solving Strong links have been found between ADHD and impaired Dopamine production It is harder for them to make considered decisions and to problem solve. When they do, they might not get much satisfaction or feel good about it.
