1 Maldives Industrial Fisheries
Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO) History A fish-canning factory was set up in 1977 as a joint venture with a Japanese company. When the government took over the plant in 1982, it was unable to meet the overseas demand so a new factory was opened in In 1979, the Maldives Fisheries Corporation was formed. MFC later became the Fisheries Projects Implementation Department (FPID), which was transformed into Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO) on 1st November 1993. MIFCO is engaged in processing and export of a tuna, tuna products, reef fish and other fishery products. MIFCO has 3 processing facilities, Felivaru Fisheries Complex, Kooddoo Fisheries Complex and Kandu Oiy Giri Fish Village. In addition, MIFCO has made all preparations to start up an industrial fisheries center in Hulhumeedhoo, Addu Atoll.

3 Felivaru Fisheries Complex (FFC), Lhaviyani Atoll
Felivaru Fisheries Complex commenced its operation in The main output of Felivaru Fisheries complex are canned tuna and frozen cooked loins

4 Kooddoo Fisheries Complex (KFC), Huvadhu Atoll
KFC in the south of the country started its operations in KFC has the capacity to freeze 450 MT in 24 hours and has a 2,000 ton cold storage.

7 Kandu Oiy Giri Fish Village
Kandu Oiy Giri Fish Village MIFCO’s processing factory site located 6 kilometers from the International Airport. KOG was opened to cater to the fresh fish market of Japan and Europe. KOG started its operation in 1999

8 Addu Fisheries Complex (AFC), Addu Atoll Hulumeedhoo
MIFCO to develop a Cold store facility at the southern tip of Maldives addu atoll hulumeedhoo. Cold store facility comprises 1500MT cold store facility ,50MT brine freezing facility. And Ice plant 25 MT. This project is expected to be completed end of 2017.
