Why is the sky blue?

Sky Blue The Sun emits equal amounts of all
wavelengths of visible light, and is therefore WHITE light Atmospheric nitrogen and oxygen absorb and scatter short wavelengths Blue light is scattered in all directions, while other wavelengths travel in a straight line to your eye

Sun Yellow Because blue light is scattered, the sunlight that travels directly to your eye is missing blue light White light – blue light = ??

Sunset Red When the sun is low in the sky, its light travels through more atmosphere Blue AND some green light is scattered The remaining wavelengths are orange and red Dust particles also reflect red light
