1 Memory tricks for remembering important linking words in French
Mots Importants Memory tricks for remembering important linking words in French si même chaque souvent pendant

2 si (if) Both ‘si’ and ‘if’ have two letters and one in common. However, if you write the letter ‘f’ by hand, it can look like an ‘s’ and in French the word starts with ‘s’.

3 même (same) ‘Même’ and ‘same’ both contain four letters and the last two ‘me’ are repeated twice in ‘même’. We remember ‘même’ means ‘same’ because the same two letters are repeated twice.

4 chaque (each) All the letters in ‘each’ are in ‘chaque’.

5 pendant (during) In the word ‘during’ there is ‘ring’.
The French do not use the equivalent word however; they use ‘pendant’ which is another piece of jewellery.

6 souvent (often) When you write the letter ‘f’ by hand, it can look like an ‘s’ and ‘s’ is the first letter of the French word ‘souvent’. Souvent has the letters o, e, n and t in common with often.
