Imamat date :At the age of 5 (8th Rabiul Awal 260AH)
Presently In occultation (ghaibat)

4. Know Your Imam - Traditions
“There will be 12 Successors”
“The world shall not end until a person from my progeny who shall carry the same name, comes & fills the earth with justice”
“The world cannot exist unless an Imam or Hujjat is present”
“One who dies without recognizing the Imam of his time, dies the death of ignorance (i.e. a disbeliever).”

5. Know Your Imam - Minor Occultation
The 10th and 11th Imams made people familiar with concept
Minor (ghaibat sughra) period lasted 69 years upto 329AH
Names of 4 representatives in this period:-
1.Abu amr Uthman ibn Saeed Amri
2.Mohammed ibn Uthman
3.Hussain ibn Rauh Nawbakhti
4.Abu Hassan bin Mohammed Sumayri
There is a letter by our Imam informing us that his representatives will be the scholars (Alims - Mujtahids) henceforth.

6. Know Your Imam - Long Life Issues
The present age of Imam-e-Zamana is 1177 years.
If Allah (swt) can resurrect someone after death, why can’t HE keep someone alive for a long period?
Many prophets/people have had very long lives: Adam, Nuh, Khizr, Ilyas, Isa (as)
Zulqarnain had a life of 3000 years
Shaytaan himself has a long life!

7. Know Your Imam - His Presence
Imam Sadiq (a.s.) says, “They see him but do not recognize him”. He is only hidden from our ordinary vision because of our sins, but he is aware of our conditions.
His example is like the sun behind the clouds, which though hidden still provides warmth & light
Our deeds (a’amal) are taken to him regularly and he is sad or happy depending on what we do everyday
He attends gatherings especially Haj
Many incidents of meeting, sighting and help have been recorded

8. Know Your Imam - Reappearance Signs
There will be discord, cruelty and injustice widespread
Sufyani will appear with threats
Dajjal will appear with enticements
Killing of Nafs e Zakkiyah – the pure soul
There will be a heavenly cry
The sun will rise from the west and there will be two eclipses in the month of Ramadhan
It can be ANYTIME & it’s close- Are you ready?

9. Know Your Imam - Waiting….
Imam says “The best act of my nation is to await the reappearance.” so we need to be in waiting (Intizaar) for his reappearance…
Our actions & behaviour should reflect we are in waiting for such a personality
We should give up deeds which displease Allah (swt) & do what Islam teaches us.
There is NO FIXED TIME for his re-appearance, it is unknown. You can make the difference if you call from the heart and be like he wants his followers to become.

10. Know Your Imam - Calling….
He answers call from all Mu’mineen and Helps them when called.
He meets people who call him with the right Niyyat
He is the Imam of our time and in the time of need and difficulty we should call upon him for help and solutions.
There are many recorded events since his occultation where he has helped Mu’mineen in person.
An ariza is one way of communicating with him throughout the year.

Dua - “Allahumma kun-le waliyekal”

12. Know your Imam atfs- Our Duties and Responsibilities
  Recognition of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s), it means to be aware of those levels, perfection and authority that has been granted to Imam-e-Zamana by Allah (swt)
Improvement in our thoughts & deeds:
Reformation of ourselves & the Society
Supplication (Du’a)
Give Sadaqah for his safety
We present our difficulties to him for their solution
There will appear a false Imam prior to our Imam’s re appearance & we need to take time to convince ourselves that it is in fact the Awaited savior before we take action
