Play the song for the class in its entirety. You can either play the video or just the audio
Give us the basic facts of the song (think the journalistic Ws): who, what, when, where. Give us some context.
Share any art work that goes with the song (album cover, etc.)
Give at least three reasons why the song has such meaning to you. It could be anything: lyrics, sound, emotion. Give specifics

1995, British alternative rock band. Released on the Album “What’s the story Morning Glory” (2nd album by the band, significantly contributed to the development of British indie music (Barfield).
Written by Noel Gallagher, lead singer and guitarist of Oasis.

11. ANALYSIS: EMOTION, LYRICS, SOUND
EMOTION: This song captures the feeling of being naïve and enamored in the 90’s. The strong sense of naiveté juxtaposed with the hope for the future provides a nostalgic feeling of the optimism and purposelessness of millenials in the 90’s.
LYRICS: This is accomplished by the interplay between the two emotions:
Purposelessness/Naiveté: “And all the roads we have to walk are winding/ and all the lights that lead use there are blinding.”
In love/ optimism for the future: “I don’t believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now” and “Maybe, you’re gonna be the one that saves me, and after all, you’re my wonderwall.”
SOUND: Simple acoustic guitar later accompanied later by the drums and strings: simplicity and beauty juxtaposed with the raspy, grating quality of Noel Gallagher’s voice + repetition of the chorus (a little annoying, right?).
