Cultural Input began 500 years ago
After a long period of wrong treatment towards the Native people, the Island of Hispaniola (Haiti) finally, got its Independence until the year of 1803. Work and Associations have developed ever since. In spite of not belonging to their cultural pattern, Haitian people have found that Knowledge comes from Education, and Industry comes from Association. Objectivism (1) and Subjectivism (2) are bound together: By consequences, through different means. 1: sculpture, paintings, photograph. 2: Music.

Music is a part of everyday life in Haiti. Haitian music is vibrant, danceable, and most often religious or politically charged. Because of the country's location in the Caribbean as well as the rich history of the isle of Hispaniola, Haiti's music has French, African, native Taino, and even Spanish influences. Freedom of Interpretation is essential. VARIOUS INFLUENCES MAKE UP HAITIAN MUSIC, THE real effect IS seen WHERE THESE END UP…

VOUDUAN MUSIC The musical style of “Vodoun” can be described as heavy drumming, spiritual dancing and chanting, and this is the basis for the music that has been radiating from Haiti ever since culture has been what irradiates from the island.

Politics in MUSIC Music and religion are deeply rooted in Haitian society, and so is the idea of political freedom and justice. It makes sense that music and politics became intertwined in Haitian society as well, to help to evolve the political views of the Haitian people.
