3. Stacked Bar Display A stacked bar display shows:
the whole and parts of the whole within one bar
trends across columns

4. What is Nesting? Nest another dimension level to:
provide additional information within the crosstab
increase the perspective of your exploration

5. Nested Categories Nested categories can be: from the same dimension
from different dimensions
measures
Nested Products (same dimension)
Nested Sales Staff (different dimensions)

6. Add Nested Categories
Nest categories using the dimension viewer, or level selectors.
To nest categories from any dimension or from measures
To nest categories from a current dimension

7. Remove or Replace Nested Categories
Use a row or column level selector to remove or replace nested categories.
To remove a nested category
To replace the current nested level with the next level down
To replace the current nested level with the previous level

PowerPlay Web gives you two crosstab layout options to choose from.
Standard Crosstab
Indented Crosstab

10. Drill Down on Same Dimension - Nested Crosstab
When multiple levels of the same dimension are nested and you drill down:
all other instances of the same level are affected
the parent level is replaced with the child level

When different dimensions are nested and you drill down:
all instances of the same row or column are affected
the dimensions are independent

12. Hide Summaries
Hide the summary rows or columns of nested categories to highlight other subtotals.

Swap nested levels to get different views of the same data.

When you drill down or up on a category in a nested crosstab, the action applies to every instance of the nested level. The integrity of the hierarchy is maintained when drilling down or drilling up.
