What is Twitter? Anyone in the world is 140 characters away.
It’s like a global professional learning network. Organized around topics, categories, or (#hashtags). Effective microblogging. Collaborative medium for all areas.

Internal vs. External Two Utilities that twitter can offer:
1. External - using it as a learner to connect With the local, state, national, and global communities. Internal - using it in your classroom With Students and other teacher and administrations. What is the meaning behind teachers and administariton with the local, state?

Examples of Using Twitter (External)
Make a personal account @jjsmarsh, (taylor account) Communicate with the local community News organizations Get the handle of correspondent responsible for your area (i.e. technology, education, etc.) Officials and organizations Don’t be afraid to take risks and speak with individuals in your focus area.

Don’t follow student’s personal accounts; I encourage my students to make professional accounts. Don’t let students use a device if your twitter is accessible on it. (don’t get “hacked” by a student)
