2. Diocletian’s Palace
Diocletian Palace is one of the best preserved monuments of the Roman architecture in the world. It was built as a combination of a luxury villa and a Roman camp  between the late 3rd and the early 4th century.  

3. When you mention the word Palace in Split, everyone thinks about the Diocletian's Palace.
It's the main city landmark, and actually the city itself, the only heritage site in the world that is still inhabited.

4. Through rich and turbulent history of Split, many noble families built their residences here so today, the area within the walls of the Palace contains Romanesque churches, medieval fortifications, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque palaces.
