No. Microsoft Social Engagement is already included as part of a Dynamics CRM Professional subscription.
Must I have a Dynamics CRM subscription?
No. Microsoft Social Engagement is also available as a standalone subscription, recommended for fewer than 10 users. Learn more.
Must I purchase a Microsoft Social Engagement subscription for trial\development purposes?
Yes. However, Dynamics NAV partners who are also Dynamics CRM Gold or Silver partners may take advantage of Internal Use Rights benefits. Learn more.

Must Dynamics NAV be connected to Office 365?
It is not necessary for Dynamics NAV to be connected to an Office 365 subscription or to use Azure AD authentication. However, these are highly recommended and will greatly enhance the experience by providing seamless sign-in to Microsoft Social Engagement using Single Sign-On technology.
Is Microsoft Social Engagement available as on- premise software?
No. Microsoft Social Engagement is part of the Microsoft Dynamics Online Services family and is only available in the cloud. However, you can connect your Dynamics NAV instance to Microsoft Social Engagement whether Dynamics NAV is deployed on-premise or in the cloud.
Will all employees see social data?
That is up to you. Microsoft Social Engagement allows you to control who can view social data or modify search topics.
