Since we have a little bit before we meet in person at Open House, I wanted to share some important information to get you started!

Class Dojo
“Remind” is a messaging system that allows me to send out mass messages to anyone signed up under my account. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this app and will be using it all year long! By signing up, you are lowering the amount of paper you get each week, cutting down your chances of the backpack eating something important, and it allows me to send you important messages in real time! 
I use this for messages like “Reminder that Open House is tonight!” Or “Don’t forget that tomorrow is picture day!” AND each week, I will send one that says “I have updated the class website! Check it out!”
The REALLY awesome part is that YOU can message ME and it goes to both my computer AND my phone. Allowing you to reach me much easier. 
You can either load it as an app or as text messages(or both if you want!). If you want the app, search “Remind” in the app store. If you want it as a text, just text:

This month we have started our FALL Science unit. Attached is a calendar AND a supply list to get us through the month. Please let us know if you have any questions or are able to donate anything!
Our Field Trip to the pumpkin patch is this month! If you have not done so, please return your permission slips ASAP! (it is attached)
This year, EZ Orchards is limiting us to only 8 chaperones per teacher because of space and supplies. We will take the first 8 parents who contact us.
*Because of limited funding, chaperones will need to pay the $3 admission fee.
Please make arrangements with your younger child(children) that day. This is a first grade field trip only.
Class Dojo is an app I use in class to track student behavior (positive and negative).
Your child gets to create their monster and you get to track their daily points.
I will send you a code to sign up within the 1st week of school! If you me, I will you the code faster. 
Adorable Moment of the Month
While at our first Cub Pride Assembly, one of our students started coughing a lot. After Mrs. Mallery asked if he was OK, the students next to him started rubbing his back and reassuring him that he would be OK. Then any time he would cough, they would check on him. Such a sweet class!!
Make sure you check the website often to keep up to date on what’s happening in the classroom!

4. Supplies needed this month
Apples (any color, any size)
If someone is able to bring in a bag of apples, that would be awesome
SMALL pumpkin (like 1 or 2 lb)
Each student needs one, so if you are able to bring one for your child (and maybe 1 or 2 for another student), that would be great!
