2. What is Bollywood?
Bollywood is the nickname given to the Indian film industry - it's a play on the word Hollywood.
Bollywood is massive. It makes up to 800 films a year - twice as many as Hollywood and about 14 million Indian people go to the cinema everyday
The B comes from Bombay (also known as Mumbai), the capital city of India.

3. Bollywood Vs. Hollywood
Hollywood is technologically superior to Bollywood.
Bollywood has not been able to create technological marvels like Avatar and Titanic.

4. Shahrukh Khan
Shahrukh Khan is a Bollywood film star and has won 14 Filmfare awards for his work in Indian films, 8 of which were for Best Actor. (which is a record!)
His latest film ‘My Name is Khan’ became the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time in the overseas market.
He is considered a huge star globally and in 2008 he was named one of the 50 most powerful people in the world.

5. Kajol
Kajol is regarded as one of India’s most successful and talented female actors.
Her first film, Bekhudi, was made in 1992 and she has made many since.
In 2010 she got the filmfare best actress award for her portrayal of Simran Singh, the wife of Rizwan Khan, in the film ‘My Name is Khan’.
