Common ‘Myths’ ‘My child won’t cope.’
‘My child is only 11. The learning that really matters happens at secondary school.’ ‘The tests are just a measure of the school’s performance.’ ‘The tests don’t really matter. They are tested again as soon as they get to secondary school.’

Purpose Hold schools accountable for the attainment and progress made by their pupils Inform parents and secondary schools about the performance of individual pupils Used to determine estimated Attainment 8 Score and therefore Progress 8.

Scaled Scores Consistent year on year
100+ Working at Expected Standard (EXS) 110+ Working at Greater Depth (GDS) Each pupil will receive: raw score scaled score confirmation of whether or not met national standard Reported to Secondary School

Regular reading together –Bug Club books can be allocated by your child‘s teacher to support comprehension Encourage child to move away from Tom Gates!
