AIM The aim of this study is to evaluate the treatment-time to correct the cross-bite of an upper central incisor by using a preformed device (LM-Activator High Short). STUDY DESIGN The analysed sample consisted of 10 patients (5 males and 5 females) aged from 5,8 to 7,2 with a central incisor cross-bite. The only instrumental test performed was OPT. The device was used only at night (from after dinner to the following morning) and the average using time per night was 11 hours. The average time of the treatment was 14 nights. At the end of the treatment, the stabilization stage was set at 30 days, only at night.(Fig :clinical cases examples) Fig. 1 Fig.2 Fig. 3 Fig. 4 T0. In particular, the use of the preformed device with a raised thickness in the rear area prevents vertical interference that may open the bite and corrects the morphology in the front area with enclosures with an inclined plane. This may allow to alter the inclination of the tooth in reverse. CONCLUSION In conclusion, the advantages of using a preformed device, in order to correct the cross-bite of a central incisor, are manifold. First of all, it is used at night and it requires no effort by the patient, secondly, it is extremely fast in correction and finally it allows to maintain results overtime, being no painful at all. In addition, by using a preformed device, dental impressions are not necessary.
