2 Situation refers to a location relative to other locations
is the relationship between the city and its surrounding area it is the exchange of people and goods. The city has forces which draw people, and goods; and forces which extend the range of its influence

3 Situation cities that grow usually have certain advantages of location (access to water, airport, canal, proximity to other countries, cities, provinces, etc)

4 Situation For example, Hamilton is located 1 hour south west of Toronto and 1 hour north west of Niagara Falls Southern Ontario Located on Hamilton Harbour which connects to Lake Ontario (water access) 1 hour from the U.S. (Buffalo)

6 Situation for example, people may come to Toronto to see the CN Tower, while at the same time salesmen from Toronto may range as far as 60 kms from the city on a regular basis.
