2 Date of the event The Planning Process Started in the month of October, 2016 and the successful completion was on the Founder’s Day of IFIM – 23rd February, 2017.

4 Name and Type of Event A. P. J. Abdul Kalam National Level Essay Contest - Vision of India by 2022. Type of Event: Promotional, Image Building and Educational.

5 Number of participants
Over institutions were contacted- so that the idea sinks in. There were about registrations- a feat by itself for any college, which has embarked on such a mighty exercise. There were 3122 contestents who participated in the Essay Contest after screening for their eligibility at the Under Graduate Level, and at the Pre-university level. 59 Colleges participated from the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Bihar, Odisha, Gujarat and Maharashtra ( 8 states in all).

6 Brief Outline The Management of the College, was magnanimous to offer prizes of Rs. 125,000 under each category- Upto Pre University and 12th standard and the second category students at UG Level. The final selection was made by a panel of three eminent citizens of India – Hon. Justice Mr. Santosh Hegde, Former Supreme Court Judge, Mr. Michael Patro – Assistant Editor of Deccan Herald, Ms. Kavitha Sharma – Chief of Production, NDTV Delhi. The Essay Contest brought out the best of young minds and the Prize- Winners at the Under Graduate ( U.G) level are furnished in Annexure A and students at 12th standard or Pre- university Level in Annexure-B.

7 Outcome The Essay contest achieved the objective of bringing out the Best of Students’ thought power on how India should be by the year 2022 and the means to attain that.

8 Conclusion The event became the Signature Event of the College and the forerunner of bringing out the Mind Power of the students for development.
