Course Goals Provide an overview of Psychology as a Science
Create interest and appreciation for Psychology Provide you with the ability to evaluate claims in the media and in pseudo-science Strengthen your ability to use scientific thinking in answering questions.

The correct textbook will come wrapped with a registration code, so be careful when discarding packaging. Research Participation
All general psychology classes include a research participation component. This is an opportunity for students to take part in ongoing research studies at MU and contribute to scientific research. You will be able to "shop" for studies that interest you, and that are scheduled at times convenient for you. Most students find these studies to be fun, and very helpful in learning research methods.

Mass Pre-Test Online Survey Available Only Early in Semester
2 credits ( doesn’t count as part of the 6 credits) Identifies you for possible future selection
