Reading Comprehension
Please use Comprehension PPTs uploaded previously from to review the following reading comprehension skills. You will need to… Read a story and answer questions about main idea sequence (including first, next, then, last and before/after) synonym, antonym (i.e. delighted/happy, safe/dangerous) homophone (i.e. sea/see) drawing conclusion using text evidence Questions are in both multiple choice and written response (please be sure to use correct grammar, such as subject-verb agreement, when writing short responses).

Grammar Please use Grammar PPTs uploaded previously to review the Grammar skills. Plural Nouns- spelling rule -s, -es (i.e. socks, dishes) and irregular (i.e. children) Abbreviation- capitalization and period (Dr. Mr. Mrs. Ms.) Possessive Noun- Singular: ‘s (Sally’s backpack) Plural Regular: s’(students’ books) Plural Irregular: ‘s (geese’s feathers) Proper nouns- capitalization List of items in a sentence- using commas and “and” to separate a list (Example: I have a cat, a dog, a bird, and a fish at home.)

Writing Students will be asked to edit a letter with mistakes in capitalization, commas, and possessive nouns.
