ELA Parent Page to Help Prepare for Week 5 (Extension)
Dear Family Member: This week our class will be focusing on how starting a business can help other people. We will also talk about why people start a business. Here are some activities that you can do with your child to help reinforce the skills we’ll be working on in class this week. Word Workout Words to Know: suffixes In this activity, you will help your child use the words to describe someone who has helped others. Spelling/Phonics: long o Play a word game with your child. You will take turns matching word cards with the same spelling for the long o vowel sound. Comprehension: main idea and key details After reading three short stories about kids who started their own businesses, your child will write the main idea and one detail about each situation. Vocabulary Spelling Words Super job Tyson, he can collect data in less than 5 minutes and his handwriting is still legible!
