HOW HAS THIS TEXT CHANGED MY THINKING? I REALIZE THAT I JUDGE PEOPLE BASED ON SMALL IDEAS, AND THAT I NEED TO PUT MORE THOUGHT INTO HOW I INTERPRET A NEW PERSON IN MY LIFE. WHAT NEW INFORMATION HAVE I LEARNED? I LEARNED THAT EVEN AFTER SLAVES WERE EMANCIPATED, THEY WERE STILL TREATED HORRIBLY, AND EVEN IN 2015, PEOPLE ARE TREATED AND JUDGED BASED SOLEY ON THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN OR OTHER SIMPLE REASONS. WHAT IN THE TEXT REALLY MADE AN IMPACT ON ME? WHY? SEEING HOW CHILDREN ACCEPTED THE “UNACCEPTED” MADE ME REALIZE THAT MOST OF WHAT WE DO IS BASED ON WHAT WE LEARN, NOT ON WHAT WE KNOW. WE ARE TAUGHT TO ACT AND THINK IN CERTAIN WAYS.
