Rise of Anasazi Around 300 B.C.E , the introduction of irrigation near the Four corners region. The irrigation allowed two crops to be planted per year . The population increased over time , and became civilized villages. Of all the dispersed cultures within that region, One was Named Anasazi . They successful adapted to the crops. Villages slowly grow in size.

Agriculture, Technology, Flood control
They had the need to maintain irrigation works often drawing men away from the village. This irrigation supplied crops and was a source for flood control. ART, Architecture and urban planning
The Anasazi have several ways of living for example they had both pueblos and cliff dwellings. In the dwellings the Anasazi had a place of storage for crops and materials they collected. They also located there homes in hard to reach areas such as natural caves to avoid attacks and increase warfare. Political structures Pottery is also believed to be a way of identification within the native peoples. Each piece had its own signature, a black and white design that would convey a message to onlookers ,sign of identity.

Economics and trade Anasazi had an economic system based on there crops such as maize, beans, and squash. They quickly adapted to their environment and grew in population. The traded turquoise for shell jewelry, copper, bells, macaws, and trumpets (in Chaco late development).

Religious belief and practices
The Anasazi religious beliefs are not proven but many believed they worshiped the moon and the sun, while others believe they worship fire. Gender roles and social structures
Anasazi maintained relatively egalitarian social structure and retained collective forms of political organization based on kinship and age. Women and men often shared agricultural task, they were specialist in main craft and responsible for food prep and child care. Political structure Traditionally the pueblo groups are all Matrilineal, meaning that clan affiliation is reckoned through the female line, and the children “belong” to the mothers clan. Their society is matriarchal, meaning that homes and farm land are owned by and inherited from the mother, and a wife has the right to divorce and evict her husband. Decline and demise. Chaco was abandon in the 12th century. Most likely a long drought that undermined the cultures fragile. Anasazi stayed in the four corners for a century after Chaco abandoned. - Hard to reach homes were reached in areas that were hard to get to and they had pressure from the land and limit land sources
