2 Company MIAB - Mölnbacka Industri AB of Deje, Sweden was established in MIAB provides equipment protecting the environment by removing solvent vapours from industrial processes. The first unit was installed 1990 and currently more than 70 units are delivered. MIAB is a total supplier. Within MIAB you will find specialist competence covering manufacturing, process technique and services.MIAB carries the project trough from order to a commissioned and approved plant.

3 Company Service We provide service agreement according to customer needs MIABs service personnel can monitor and optimize the MIAB units remotely. The system generates reports describing plant availability as well as the amount of VOC destroyed.

4 Company MIAB is environmental and quality certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

5 MIAB is a total supplier
Custom made systems MIAB is a total supplier. Within MIAB you will find specialist competence covering manufacturing, process technique, commissioning and service. We design the VOC abatement system according to the customers specific needs. MIAB service department can remotely control and optimize the units that are installed at the customers site.

6 MIAB is a total supplier
Delivery MIAB deliver direct to customers site, install the unit and start up the plant. MIAB:s purification system is automatic and requires a minimum of monitoring and control. We offer service agreements adapted to customer needs.

7 Features of the MIAB system
Flexible systems MIAB supply flexible systems that allows all types of running conditions from intermittent to continuous processes. This provides a system for VOC abatement that is very cost effective in terms of both investment and running costs.

8 Features of the MIAB system
Activated carbon Activated carbon is used because of its superior physical properties compared to other adsorbents. Activated carbon contains a wide spectrum of pore sizes allowing effective adsorption of a great variety of VOC´s from the incoming gas stream. Activated carbon has also lower priced compared to other types of adsorbents.

9 Features of the MIAB system
Catalyst Different industrial processes use different kind of VOC´s. Therefore, the choice of catalyst needs to be evaluated for every application. MIAB can offer the necessary range of catalysts to give the best performance for the end-user such as low cost, low operating temperature, low pressure drop and long catalyst lifetime. Catalyst performance and conditions is followed up on a regular base.

10 Features of the MIAB system
Environmental friendly The oxidation is operated by electricity and no gas is needed. This can promote the use of “green” electricity, reducing the amount of CO2 released to the atmosphere. The MIAB system is also designed to use the VOC adsorbed in the activated carbon to reduce the need for additional energy during the desorption process.

11 Features of the MIAB system
Low operating cost The MIAB system utilizes fixed adsorption beds. An advantage of the fixed adsorptions beds is that the desorption process is more flexible and simple compared to that of a rotary system, where the desorption must take place continuously. The MIAB system regenerates the carbon only when the filters are saturated with VOC, which lowers the operating cost. During the desorption process the concentration of VOC to the oxidizer is nearly uniform due to the unique design of the MIAB filters. This approach avoids a peak in concentration when the desorption process is initiated, and allows the oxidizer to be designed for a lower, uniform concentration resulting in more stable operation and lower energy consumption.

12 Products MIAB was established in 1989, and has since then been a leader in the development of  VOC related air purification systems. Our experience is based on many years of production within the industry. MIAB`s philosophy is to deliver VOC abatement systems that are environmentally friendly, energy efficient and have lower installation costs compared to other systems. MIAB FD MIAB F MIAB D

13 Products MIAB has developed an innovative process for the control of Volatile Organic Compound, VOC, emissions from industrial processes. The MIAB system provides a cost effective approach to control low concentrations of VOCs in high-volume air streams. The MIAB system concentrate the solvent vapors on activated carbon followed by catalytic oxidation. The VOC is oxidized in the catalytic unit without the need for supplemental power and the heat can be recovered for use in the process. MIAB FD MIAB F MIAB D

14 Products MIAB FD The system consists of two units:
This type of purification system is suitable for large air flows with low concentrations of solvents. Typical range of volume is m3/h and concentration range from 0 to mg/m3. The system consists of two units: An adsorption unit with activated carbon filter and main fan. A catalytic oxidation unit.

15 Products MIAB FD Purification takes place in two steps:
1. The air is purified and the solvent is concentrated in the carbon filter. When the system is started, the speed of the main fan is automatically adjusted to draw process air from the emission points connected to the system. The main fan takes this contaminated air through the carbon filter. The solvent is adsorbed by the activated carbon and the air is purified. This type of purification system is suitable for large air flows with low concentrations of solvents. Typical range of volume is m3/h and concentration range from 0 to mg/m3.

16 Products MIAB FD 2. Regeneration of the carbon filter and destruction of the solvent in the catalytic unit. When the carbon filter becomes saturated with solvent, it is first shut off from the process air flow, and then regenerated using hot gas from the catalytic unit. During continuous operation, a second carbon filter takes over the adsorption process. During regeneration, the hot gas from the catalytic unit heats the carbon to release the solvent and carries the solvent to the oxidiser. Since the strip gas flow is much smaller than the process air flow, it becomes highly concentrated, allowing the solvent to be destroyed without any suplementary fuel, or energy. This is very important to achieving the low level of energy consumption. This type of purification system is suitable for large air flows with low concentrations of solvents. Typical range of volume is m3/h and concentration range from 0 to mg/m3.

17 Products MIAB F Purification of process air with activated carbon. This system is suitable for relatively small air flows and small amounts of VOC. Typical range of volume is m3/h and a VOC loading up to 10 tons/year.

18 Products MIAB D A purification system where the process air is purified by means of catalytic oxidation. This system is suitable for small process air flows with a high concentration of VOC. Typical range of volume is 500 – m3/h with concentrations from 1 g/m3  to 12 g/m3. The system consists of heat exchanger, electrical heater, fan and an oxidation unit. MIAB can deliver multiple units in order to reach the required airflow.
