4 Importing Music and Other Content into iTunes
insert CD - iTunes opens! disc appears in sidebar menu GraceNote identifies tracks (if connected to internet) import entire CD or drag selected tracks iTunes looks up artwork drag tracks, ebooks, or pdf’s to library or to playlist eject disc when finished default file format AAC

6 Subscribing to a Podcast
search for podcast in iTunes Store preview an episode download an episode better yet - SUBSCRIBE! iTunes looks for a new show and downloads it automatically

7 Converting and Exporting Audio Files in iTunes
iTunes/Preferences/Import Settings - choose mp3 select track Advanced/Select mp3 version drag track to destination drag track(s) to destination change Import Settings back to AAC

8 Using Playlists to Organize Music
Playlist - a “cassette mix” or self-made “album” Playlists organize music according to uses Playlist for each grade level Playlist for after school groups Playlist for particular activity: “folk dance,” “steady beat” create playlist File/New Playlist select tracks and drag to playlist

9 Syncing an iPod or iPhone
iPod syncs to only one iTunes library at a time! iTunes will ask if you want to sync to new library sync everything automatically sync manually only the content you want sync selected playlists, artists, albums, genres, etc. sync (or not) podcasts, TV shows, movies, ebooks, apps, and photos Best Practice: always eject for unplugging
