Page Infection Control (BB# 11482) after implementing precautions.
Transport: place a surgical mask on patient. Notify receiving department that precautions are necessary.
Trash: Trash container in room.
Linen: Keep linen hamper in the anteroom. Place all used linens (including patient linens and gowns used by healthcare workers) into linen hamper before leaving the anteroom. Negative pressure rooms without an anteroom, keep linen hamper inside patient room.
Eye Protection: Discard goggles/face shields after each use.
PAPR- discard hood. Wipe the breathing tube, belt & power source with Sani-cloth wipe after each use.
Supplies/Equipment: limit supplies to essential quantities. Discard or disinfect all patient care items after patient discharge. All equipment which enters room must be disinfected when leaves patient room.
Visitors must report to nurse’s station before entering room. All visitors must wear N95 respirator, gown, gloves, and protective eyewear.
Terminal Cleaning: room must be kept vacant for 45 minutes after patient discharge PRIOR to cleaning the room. Use the hospital-approved disinfectant on all surfaces and contaminated areas.
