Easter in the UK
2
It is celebrated on the 16th April this year.
It was originally a festival celebrated by Christians to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Most people now celebrate this festival in England even if they are not Christians. Children get chocolate eggs often referred to Easter eggs on the Easter Sunday and some take part in an egg hunt to find the chocolate eggs (which parents hide in the garden or in the house). Children believe there is an Easter bunny who brings Easter eggs (Chocolate Eggs ) and leaves them at their home. It’s one of the most important festivals in the Christians calendar. Good Friday is the day that Jesus died (2 days before Easter Sunday).
