In groups, reflect on the following questions: Whose voice is defining the ‘phenomena’? Is this researcher-led or citizen-led? Could you classify a rose using a pre-defined taxonomy as part of a participatory process? Would you describe this as a ‘holistic’ or ‘analytical’ approach? What kind of data are we gathering? How could the data be analysed? What are the benefits of applying a participatory approach? Is it something that can be explored in an ‘analytical’ or a ‘holistic way’? (30 mins)
