2
Perimeter
3
Perimeter 2 6.3cm 2.1cm 1.2cm 0.8cm Perimeter = = 20.8
4
AREA What is the area of a shape? How much flat space it takes up.
How do you calculate the area? Area = length x width = 8.5 x 2.1 = m2 8.5m 2.1m
5
Area 2 6.3cm 2.1cm 1.2cm 0.8cm Area = (6.3 x ( )) + (1.2 x 0.8) =(6.3 x 2.9) + (1.2 x 0.8) = = cm2
6
Area 3 What is the area of a triangle?
A triangle is half of a rectangle so the area of a triangle is: ½ x base x height
7
Area 4 1.2 m 3.1 m Area = ½ x 3.1 x 1.2 = 1.86 m2
8
Area 5 1.5 m 1.2 m Area = ½ x 1.2 x 1.5 = 0.9 m2
9
Volume What is the volume of a 3-D shape?
The total amount of space it takes up. How do we calculate the volume of a cuboid? Length x depth x height
10
Volume 2 1.2 m 1.1 m 1.4 m Volume = 1.2 x 1.4 x 1.1 = m3

The End Good Luck
