2. MOTIVATION India is water hungry nation
Nowadays, agriculture is moving from being rain dependent to irrigation dependent.
However, a large portion of the water used is wasted.
We wish to minimize this wastage and make irrigation efficient with the use of our smart irrigator.

THE PRODUCT
Uses a silicon chip
This chip will be inserted in an irrigator(preferably, a sprinkler)

5. WORK PROGRESS We have completed the design of the silicon chip
The main computer program on which the device would be based has been completed
The sprinkler system is being modified to work as per the chip program

7. EXPECTED COMPLETION TIME
The product is expected to be ready for testing by 1st December,2017.
Testing of the product will be completed in a month.
We will be ready with the first tested prototype by 1st January,2017

8. WORK TO BE DONE IN THE FUTURE
After these modification the cost of sprinkler is expected to increase to 1500 INR from 500 INR.         The chip manufacturing cost is still high. For these sprinklers to be economically viable, the cost of productions needs to be reduced.
The chip currently functions for the Indo Gangetic Plains. Models for the other areas need to be made and tested to make them available nationwide.
