IOT POLY ENGINEERING 2-1 Into which column does each of the technologies below go? Alarm Clock Thermostat Telephone T.V. Remote
3
Into which column does each of the technologies below go?
Alarm Clock – communicates the time (with a sound) to a human. Thermostat – measures the temperature and turns the furnace on or off. Telephone – a human speaks in one side, a human hears it on the other. T.V. Remote – a human pushes a button, a signal is send to the television.

Telephone Communication
IOT POLY ENGINEERING 2-1 Telephone Communication One of the simplest devices in your house Microphone – converts sound energy of voice into electrical energy (encodes) Wires – the electrical energy travels from your phone, via exchanges, to your friend’s Receiver – friend’s earpiece speaker converts the electrical energy back to sound Answering Machine – friend isn’t home, and this machine stores your communication Play Button – friend gets home, presses play, hears your recorded voice
