Department Mission To provide leadership and direction for the long term environmental, economic, and social sustainability of Lethbridge County. The County’s Strategic Plan guides all department activities in our efforts to foster strong relationships within the region, create a vibrant economic environment, carefully manage growth, minimize risk associated with disasters and communicate and promote County initiatives and successes. Community Services Planning & Development
Oversees and manages day-to-day planning matters for the County Assists with the responsibilities of the Development Authority pursuant to the Municipal Government Act Processes development applications and agreements; provides interpretation, explanation and guidance to members of the general public, developers and landowners, administration, council and related boards Responsible for initiating changes, interpretation and enforcement of the Land Use Bylaw Lethbridge County is now an accredited municipality with Municipal Affairs and has the authority to administer the Safety Codes Act for the building, plumbing, electrical and gas disciplines.
