2. Older People’s Services – General Needs
This is an on-going project under the direction of Andrea Sullivan, Project Worker
Aims are to:
Maintain contact with all older people housed by CHS Group
Provide an additional information and advice resource to older people
In order to do this we have:
Made contact by phone, letter or with all those over 65 whose details are held on our system
Visited all those who requested a meeting
Created links with other agencies who may be able to help our tenants, such as Age UK
Placed articles in the CHS newsletter to advise people of the service

3. Results
Main concerns were for practical tasks which tenants were finding more difficult as they got older.
Highest need in CB4 – 30
CB5 - 12
We were able to source some gardening help via Age UK

4. Needs identified by tenants
We have set up a meals service to John Beckett Court (April 2015)
We hope to offer laundry, care and meals services from other care homes or extra care schemes
We have referred 3 people to our Dementia Services Manager for further specialist advice
Highest need for care in CB5 -10,
CB6 – 10, CB23 - 7

5. Home Safety Highest need: Isolation: CB1 and CB4 -14 each
Adaptations : CB4 – 13, CB23 - 5

6. Other information: 4 people discussed move –on
One to extra care
One to sheltered housing
2 to downsize – referred back to Housing Officer
6 people wanted help with finances – one was referred to Money Advisor at CHS
CB11, CB21 and CB7 had the least identified need
Highest need in CB4, CB5 and CB6
