Welcoming programme for newly arrived foreigners
to support smooth adaptation and subsequent integration of newly arrived foreigners by providing them information: 1) on the functioning of the state and society; 2) daily life, working, studying and family matters, and by facilitating the acquisition of basic Estonian language skills

Developing local level support networks by 2023 and beyond
to develop and sustain cooperation networks between state, regional and local level partners in order to facilitate information sharing horizontally to develop (public) services aimed at newly arrived foreigners to facilitate sustainable local-level cooperation to empower state, regional and local level partners, clarifying different roles and finding successful solutions to problems related to adaptation and integration

some success, but overall still a long way ahead creating a „sense of ownership“ on other levels/sectors besides the state

Role of the state the state has to be a smart buyer
„thick vs thin“ – the state should not be the one who does everything on their own the state must be innovative and strategic partner building strategic partnership(s) no trenches – public, private and third sectors as partners

Estonia has been and still is the IT trailblazer in the world
why not make use of the momentum also in the field of integration? hackathons, various apps etc.

Be confident introductory marketing courses in schools to value Estonia and learn how to „sell it“/promote cultural, societal and business ambassadors more measures aimed at natives

More cooperation but also more involvement

Allow yourself to fail – integration takes time
integration is a marathon, not a sprint stop designing policies and services without involving the target group(s) we shouldn´t not only learn from best practices but also from failures
