2 Warm up/finger strengthening

3 Blues scale The, typical, blues scale is built upon the pentatonic scale that we have already looked at. To play the blues correctly you must add the ‘blue note(s)’ Most commonly the blue note is the flattened fifth. 4 Blues chords Seventh chords
Similarly to the blues scales, blues chords are built using different notes. Most typically, blues chords add the seventh note of the scale to the chord. 5 Fingerpicking Chords Instead of strumming with your right hand, pick the strings with you thumb, first, second and third fingers. Make sure that your fretting hand (Left hand) uses the same finger positions as already learnt. Try picking between the chords bellow.

The numbers in green indicate the beat and when you should play. Try and play the main riff and chords for the chorus in pairs. You should change chord every four beats.
