Catalyst (n) Definition: event that quickly causes action. Sentence: The surprise bombing attack was the catalyst that caused the war.

Catalogue (v) Definition: Writing down a complete list of items in order. Sentence: Ms Paris and her friend catalogued a list of activities they wanted to do in 2015.

Catastrophe (n) Definition: a disaster Sentence: Hurricane Sandy was a catastrophe that caused damage and destruction to thousands of people.

Cataract Definition: A large waterfall or rapids.
Sentence: Nigel was hiking when he saw a beautiful cataract that splashed him with water on the hot day.

Catastrophic (adj) Definition: Extremely harmful; bringing ruin. Sentence: I made my mom mad, but avoided catastrophic results by apologizing and giving her flowers.

Catatonic (adj) Definition: Showing an unusual lack of movement, activity, or expression. Sentence: After a particular brutal battle in the war the solider was in a catatonic state and couldn’t move.

Manipulate (v) Definition: control it or move it around for a specific purpose Sentence: Manipulate time in a narrative by using flashbacks.
