Secure Testing with Respondus

2. The Respondus Lockdown Browser is an application that teachers can use when students are testing online. This application prevents access to other browsers, websites, or programs.

3. Respondus Lockdown Browser
First, make sure that every student has the lockdown browser icon on their desktop.

4. Respondus Lockdown Browser
If you have students who do not have the Respondus icon on their desktop, please put a ticket into 1:1 Plus. Please DO NOT the list.

5. Respondus Lockdown Browser
You will want to test using the lockdown browser with one class before you use this for a major test with multiple classes. This will give you the chance to decide if you want to require a password and see how this feature works if you do decide to use a password.

6. Respondus Lockdown Browser
In your Canvas course, select LockDown Browser on the left side tool bar.
Click button to Authorize the first time you open the Respondus Browser Navigation Link.
You will see your quizzes listed.
Click on the icon to the left of the quiz name and click Modify Settings.
Select “Require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam".

7. If a student leaves class early the teacher can edit the quiz and set an access code so that the student cannot finish it at home.  The following day the teacher can edit thee quiz again and remove the access code to allow students to continue the quiz (or give students the access code).  

8. Respondus
To start a quiz using the Respondus Lockdown Browser, students click the Respondus shortcut on their desktops.

9. Respondus
If students need to get out of the quiz the teacher can click on the i icon at the top of the browser and enter the proctor password that was previously set.
