4 Civics EOC Overview The Florida EOC Assessments purpose is to increase student achievement and improve college and career readiness.  The Civics EOC assessment is a computer-based assessment that measures the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. The EOC will be administer in one 160-minute session with a 10-minute break. By the end of the 160 minutes students may continue working; however, testing must be completed within the same school day.

Enlightenment Ideas, Impact of Key Documents, English Policies, Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, The U.S. Constitution, Separation of Powers and Checks and Balances. Roles, Rights, and Responsibilities of Citizens Citizenship, Bill of Rights and Other Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, Landmark Supreme Court Cases. Government Policies and Political Processes Political Parties (Qualifications, Communications, Public Policy, Multiple Perspectives), U.S. Domestic and Foreign Policy, International Organizations, and International Conflicts. Organization and Function of Government Forms and Systems of Government, Tree Branches of Government (Structure, Function, and Processes), Amendment Process, Court Systems, Obligations and Services, and The U.S. vs the Florida Constitution.

6 What Your Child Will Be Working on in 7th Grade Civics
Reading assignments from longer text passages as well as shorter ones when text is extremely complex. Answering high-level, text-specific questions and participating in high-level, complex tasks and assignments. Supporting their answers with evidence from the text. In partnership with the Language Arts Department. Conducting extensive text-based research in response to a specific question by drawing on evidence from several credible informational sources to support an analysis or reflection. Avoiding plagiarism and following a standard format for citations (e.g., footnotes, bibliography).
