Our story The Pennsylvania Civil War Trails: Prelude to Gettysburg is a living, breathing discovery of our country’s great struggle. Here the untold stories are told, the faceless are brought to life, and the places in between become bridges to our stronger nation.

Everyone knows Lincoln and Lee and Grant. The first line or two of the Gettysburg Address. The Pennsylvania Civil War Trails is much more than that. It’s the home front. The small towns and families who endured America’s most personal war.

What we do. Help experience-hungry travelers discover the Civil War where it happened… and enjoy the charm and hospitality of Pennsylvania’s Dutch Country Roads region.

What we do. Offer a broad and deep “home front” perspective with engaging stories of soldiers and citizens who defended the Commonwealth and helped to forge a stronger nation.

What we do. Present a “themed park” experience (a regional marketing partnership) to discover “behind-the-big-scenes” stories of the Civil War based on four themes: Defense of the Commonwealth Women & Children Under Siege Commerce & Daily Life African-Americans & the Quest for Freedom
