THE SOIL IS SUBJECTED TO DECREASE IN THE GAP BETWEEN EVERY PARTICLE, AND IN TURN SOIL IS SUBJECTED TO CHANGE IN VOIDS RATIO, POROSITY, DENSITY, PERMEABILITY ETC DUE TO APPLIED GRADUAL LOAD.
