2. National law about CNLG
The National Commission for the fight against Genocide was created by law No 09/2007 of 16/02/2007 which stipulates that the Commission is a National, independent and permanent institution.
It has a legal status and administrative and financial autonomy. The Commission particularly collaborates with the Ministry having the memory of Genocide in its attribution (Ministry of Sport and Culture).

3. Organization of the Commission
The National Commission for the Fight against Genocide has the following organs:
1. An Advisory Council; 2. A Commissioners' Council; 3. An Executive Secretariat.

4. Missions of the Commission
1. To put in place a permanent framework for the exchange of ideas on genocide, its consequences and the strategies for its prevention and eradication.
2. To initiate the creation of a national research and documentation center on genocide.
3. To advocate for the cause of genocide survivors both within the country or abroad as trauma and other diseases which resulted from genocide.

4. To plan and coordinate all activities aimed at commemorating the 1994 genocide;
5. To elaborate and put in place strategies that are meant for fighting genocide and its ideology;
6. To seek for assistance for genocide survivors and pursue advocacy as to the issue of compensation;

7. To elaborate and put in place strategies that are meant to fighting revisionism, negationism and trivialization;
8. To elaborate and put in place strategies meant to solve genocide consequences such as trauma and other diseases which resulted from genocide;

CNLG has a library with lots of historic documentation about the genocide that happened in Rwanda and in other countries.

We have about 7000 books of various kinds but most of which talk about Genocide and we expect to have more than by 2010 which will include archives that will be got from Gacaca.
Basically all the information is still in the manual form (not digital).
But we hope to transform our library into digital at the completion of this training.
