A citation is a short reference, usually including the author/page number Gives credit to the source of a quote or other information included in a document Based on information entered in the Create Source form Insert a placeholder to indicate where you will insert a citation later Microsoft Office Word Illustrated

Caption is text that is attached to a figure in Word and provides a title or a brief explanation of the figure Caption style format by default Figure is any object, e.g., a chart, a picture, an equation, a table, or an embedded object Microsoft Office Word Illustrated
