Best Practices MDM is being provided to children up to XII class UT share of cooking cost is Rs.8.00/-per child per day (pcpd) for Primary and Rs.9.00/-pcpd for Upper Primary levels i.e. over and above the central assistance. No complaint of irregularities in implementation of MDMS in the UT received. UT is providing honorarium of Rs. 8500/- per CCH which is Rs.7500 more than the minimum prescribed by centre. Honorarium to CCHs is e-transferred to their bank accounts (100%) Additional items like Egg, Fish, Chicken, Fruits etc. are included in the MDM menu. Use of Double fortified Salt in preparation of MDM. Capacity building and training to different stakeholders. Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

Issues On introduction of PFMS, the approval of PAO, MHRD is required for central release of 1st and 2nd instalments to the UT. The same is pending with the PAO. Use of firewood as the mode of cooking MDM . Cooking cost Utilizations is less (63%) Payment to Cook-cum-helpers (71%) Utilization of MME is less (29%) Mismatch in data between the AWP&B received from the UT and the MDM-MIS. .
