ACADEMIC INTERESTS Measured by 6 Q26 ACADEMIC INTERESTS Key focus areas Priority Campaign based on Question 26 in the NSS, and feedback from students. Each officer will be responsible for different areas of the campaign and will report progress to Student Council, SEEC, ‘VCSU’ and other bodies when necessary. CONTACT HOURS ADDITIONAL COURSE COSTS Lead Officer: Sarah Kwedi Brief Overview: Look into the entire marking procedure and creating student awareness of it Work to ensure transparent marking Providing feedback to students on all graded assessments Lead Officer: Manny Hakimyar Brief Overview: Drop in sessions timetabled in every school – awareness of contact hours outside of teaching time Check up on placement students and students who have missed a number of lectures. Lead Officer: Shelby Loasby Brief Overview: Increase awareness/presence of additional course costs Review and reduce costs where possible CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ACADEMIC SUPPORT PLACEMENTS Lead Officer: Rosy Vega Brief Overview: Academic Society for every school Roll-out the Go Herts Award Including co-curr activity in timetables Review and expand what schools are doing trip wise, networking trips, work experience opportunities etc. Lead Officer: Adil Ur Rehman Brief Overview: Mental Health awareness Review Disability support in schools Celebrate academic success Expand academic support offering like CASE, CAE, Maths and English Lead Officer: Shelby & Sarah Brief Overview: Review loans, bursaries for placement; travel, parking, living costs Reintegrating students back from placement (welcome back, re-induction) Maintaining communication and support with UH whilst on placements
