1 FLIPPED CLASSROOM ACTIVITY CONSTRUCTOR – USING EXISTING CONTENT

2 About Prashant K. Dhutekar
Myself Prashant K.Dhutekar working as an Assistant Professor in department of Mechanical Engineering at G. H. Raisoni Institute of Engineering and Technology Pune.Currently I am teaching Advanced Manufacturing Process subject to the undergraduate students. My specialization is in Manufacturing Process Engineering. This work is an attempt of completion of RCA2 activity of FDP201X with an objective of self development & ultimately student benefit.

To List different Materials Used In injection Moulding Process Q.1 List different type of materials used in injection moulding process? 6.50 Submit answers to all questions 3 hours before coming to class. Total activity duration 31.50 minutes

10 In-class Activity Design -1
Learning Objective(s) of In - Class Activity At the end of the class, students will be able to, Understand the use of injection moulding machine for manufacturing of plastic components. Key Concept(s) to be covered Practical applications of Injection Moulding Process Constructional details of Injection Moulding Machine

11 In-class Activity Design -2
Active Learning activity(ies) that you plan to do Think Pair share Explain the strategy by giving details of First 30 minutes teacher will explain the constructional details of injection Moulding Machine & discuss practical applications. Students will think, discuss with peers & share the answers with each other. Justify why the above is an active learning strategy This activity enables student to think individually & discuss with peers which results in engagement of student in reading, thinking & explaining.

12 In-class Activity Design -2
TPS Strategy – What Instructor does Think (~2 minutes)  Q 1: Which types of components can be manufactured by using Injection Moulding Process. Q 2: What is the function of ejector pins in injection moulding machine. Think individually and identify the real life end products of injection moulding machine.

13 In-class Activity Design -2
TPS Strategy – What Instructor does Pair (~5 minutes) Instruction: Now pair up and compare your answers. While students are pairing and discussing, instructor goes to 2~3 sections to see what they are doing.

14 In-class Activity Design -2
TPS Strategy – What Instructor does Share (~8 minutes) Instructor asks a group to share their answer with class and see whether there are different answers. After sharing is done, instructor gives feedback on the correct solution.

15 In-class Activity Design -2
Justify why the above is an active learning strategy In both the above strategies, students are required to go beyond mere listening and execution of prescribed steps. They are required to think deeply about the content they were familiarized in out-of-class and do higher order thinking. There is also feedback provided (either through peer discussion or instructor summary)
