A TRUE KNOWLEDGE REVEALS OUR ABILITY TO ANALYZE THEM AND FORM THESIS STATEMENT THE THESIS STATEMENT IS SUPPOSED TO REVEAL OUR AUTHENTIC, CRITICAL ATTITUDE TOWARD A CERTAIN PHENOMENOM, WHETHER IT BE HISTORICAL, LITERARY, ECONOMICAL, etc THESIS STATEMENT MUST BE A CLAIM WHICH IS DEBATABLE: for example, the sentence: Industrial revolution in England gave rise to a huge economic development. This claim represents a thesis statement only by its form – however, the claim is not strong enough to be DEBATABLE. Namely, it is a well-known fact that the Industrial revolution gave rise to a huge economic development. A true thesis statement requires a more insightful critical attiude
